Writing, Teaching, and Editing

Dr. Kisker co-wrote, with Arthur M. Cohen and Florence B. Brawer, The American Community College (6th edition), published in 2014 by Jossey-Bass. The book is available from Amazon.com.

Dr. Kisker is co-author, with Arthur M. Cohen, of The Shaping of American Higher Education: Emergence and Growth of the Contemporary System (2nd edition), published in 2010 by Jossey-Bass. The book is available from Amazon.com.

Dr. Kisker co-edited, with Dr. Bernie Ronan, a New Directions for Community Colleges volume on Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement. This volume will be available from Jossey-Bass in print and online in March 2016. 

Dr. Kisker is co-editor, with Dr. Richard Wagoner, of a New Directions for Community Colleges volume titled Implementing Transfer Associate Degrees: Perspectives from the States (Jossey-Bass, 2012). The volume can be accessed here

Teaching

At UCLA and at UC Riverside, Dr. Kisker has taught graduate and undergraduate courses on the history of higher education, foundations of student affairs, college student development, and citizenship, leadership, and service.

Editing

Dr. Kisker has acted as a content and copy editor for several community college publications, including  Dr. Pamela L. Eddy's book titled Community College Leadership: A Multidimensional Model for Leading Change (2010, Stylus). The book is available from Amazon.com.

For several years prior to founding Kisker Education Consulting, Dr. Kisker was the managing editor of New Directions for Community Colleges, a quarterly journal focused on community college research and practice.
